In this area of south Nashville, most places feel a little... sketchy. But my neighborhood seems to be in some sort of time warp from the fifties. Kids play in the streets, riding their bikes, talking to neighbors. All the neighbors know each other and have cookouts together... Its so homey!
Maybe it's too good to be true...

Do you not get ice cream vans over there then as a rule of thumb? It's so common here we barely blink an eye. Ours comes around late afternoon from late Spring to late Summer. I always wonder what the guy does in the winter months for a living. Mind you it's usually someone different every year... Weird how cultues and customs can be so different in countries that speak the same language.
I agree. I've always wanted to go to England, and my friends who have gone have told me how different it is from the U.S. (especially since we live in the South ;) )
There are areas that get ice cream trucks (like this little neighborhood). They were prevalent in the forties - sixties, but kind of dropped off for awhile. This is honestly the first time I've had one anywhere near where I lived, and I'm 25 years old. Lol.
