Not Pregnant

I get the weirdest looks from people all the time for one of my favorite sandwiches.  It is not your "normal" sandwich, although the person who gets to judge what is normal in this life does not always coincide with my own thoughts on normalcy.
The sandwich in question (which I am happily munching on right now) is pickle, lettuce, and pretzel with a drizzle of dijon mustard.

See, I told you.  I see the looks out there.  Except for you, making the yummy face.  You get ten points.

It is a strange concoction, I will admit.  But to me, the tangy and crunchy makes my taste buds happy.  Adding cucumber is also a refreshing treat, but alas, no cucumbers in my kitchen today.

Weird sandwiches has been passed down to me, though.  My dad's favorite sandwich was peanut butter and mayonnaise.  When mom was too busy or had to go in to work early, dad would be in charge of making our breakfasts.  And more likely than not, he would be slathering up the bread with PB and Mayo to put on our plates, and a huge glass of ice cold milk to wash it down.
It's actually really tasty.  Don't knock it until you've tried it.

Another good one is peanut butter and jelly with sour cream and onion chips in the middle.

When you think about it, I'm sure everyone has some weird food concoction that they think is just mouth watering, but everyone else warily stares it down.  As if it will jump off their friend's plate and try to scurry down their throat, gags aplenty.

So what is yours?  I'm all ears.

lol, ya sandwich filler is one to try, as i was reading the fillin i stoped and thought i wonder what that tastes like, i had crunchy n zingy in my mind , cant think of strange food i eat together although i know tinned tomatoes goes with ANY dish......well it does is my house, also when i make spag bol if my sauce is too thin i add instant gravy granuals but never tell anyone when they say how nice my sauces are, but i always use toms n gravy n pepp it up with stuff like wochester sauce, lee n perrins tabasco ect. i get frowns if i have cornedbeef and tomatoe sauce sandwiches or bannana sandwiches, or toast one side put bannana on the other side with brown sugar n caramalise under the grill. also the salad girl gives me funny looks wen i get pineapple chunks with everything sandwich or salad bowl, have no idea whats weird about that..........

I love the banana sandwich idea. And I never thought of adding instant gravy to a thin bolognese.
We went out last night with a couple and the male counterpart had a very strange concoction... He eats cheese, peanut butter, and tuna sandwiches.
Now, that's nothing I want to try.

Pickle, lettuce and pretzel sounds delicious...and would be nice spread with tahini if you can be bothered-I have eaten this combo believe it or not!! My favourite tho is a pitta bread filled with coleslaw and sweet chilli sauce....

Definitely going to put tahini on my next sammie. Or maybe hummus? That sounds pretty good, too.

I just discovered sweet chili sauce last year, and I am definitely in love. Lol.

Yeah hummus too, delish!- but there is something about the particular combination of tahini pickle and tomato (with or w/o pretzel- I say go for it!!) that is just mmmmmmmmmm.
PS thanks for stopping by my blog...how weird that we blogged sandwiches at the same time?!?

I know dude! And I have been so busy lately, I haven't blog jumped in forever. I'm finally slowing down, so I'll be stopping by a lot to see how you're progressing on that project!

That's my pretty girl. :)
And I think everything is better when eaten while watching cartoons.
I think the world could be saved if everyone got up on Saturday mornings and watched cartoons for hours with a soggy bowl of cereal.

Hmm..... I thoroughly enjoy Bologna and peanut butter, lightly toasted. And on occasion I'll slip some sweet peppers in there. Another one? Honey turkey, dash of honey mustard and vinagrette.

A classic that I'm sure I don't only do is wendy's french fries repeatedly dipped into their frosty. Yum. :)

Fries in a frosty are definitely a classic! As are Doritos in a frosty...

My dad was a big fan of peanut butter and onion (the red ones), which I've tried. It's got that sweet and sour thing going with a bit of crunch. My mom used to make us peanut butter with either apple or banana topped with a drizzle of honey, raisins, and a dash of cinnamon - it's a bit like dessert.
